LOTUS SYSTEM OVERVIEW
System outline and operation
The LOTUS sensor head contains 1*1 cm2 sensor chip which has multiple sensor arrays, including conductivity and temperature sensors, each made with a functionalized ink that reacts with certain analytes in water .
When the LOTUS sensor is exposed to water, the inks interact with the ions in the water, and the AFE measures this reactivity.
The LOTUS box translates this data into human-readable format and stores in cloud.
An AI enabled analytics web and mobile application deployed in cloud generates real-time insights and visualization from these measurements.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY
"Quality Water for a Quality Life".
Hydroscope is a start-up working on an internet of things (IoT) development, called LOTUS, for real-time monitoring of water from source to tap, to identify and solve water quality issues with a multi-parameter sensor. Our company aims to develop highly accurate and reliable real-time water quality sensing and monitoring device at a low cost. LOTUS started as a research project in 2019. With an aspiration to take the innovative technology developed during research, Hydroscope was founded in 2022. Our founding team includes researchers and alumnus from IIT Kharagpur and Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh, USA.

Senthilmurugan Subbiah
Advisor
Dr.Senthilmurugan is a Professor in Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Guwahati. His area of research includes Modelling and Optimization of Novel Processes, Process Design and Operation of Membrane Separation Processes, Waste and waste water treatment (WWWT) for Process Industries, Novel Desalination Technologies, Smart Water Grid, Waste to Energy.
Dr. Bérengère Lebental
Advisor
Dr. Bérengère is Research Director at Gustave Eiffel University, Paris, France.She is a physicist specializing in nanomaterial-based sensors for urban and environmental applications. Her research shows the viability of nano-sensors for high impact applications such as monitoring air pollution, water pollution or sustainable infrastructure.
